Civics as Solution for Problems Social and Character of Elementary School Children

This study aims to determine the importance of civics education as a solution to social problems and the character of elementary school children. Character education aims to revitalize the character of citizens in accordance with the values of Pancasila, including piety, faith, honesty, caring, and ethics or politeness. is wrong one means that It is appropriate to implement the values in character education to students, because the goal of Civics is essentially to create students to become democratic citizens with character in accordance with the values of Pancasila. The type of research is a literature review. The results of this study are that Civics is a subject that must be taught at all levels of education, from elementary school to university. Civics is a major part of instilling character education. However, Civics is sometimes considered less important, because it has memorization material that cannot carry out its benefits as a major part of character education. The conclusion of this study is Civics as a solution to social and character problems of elementary school children where character education is one of the important lessons in creating the next generation of the nation in Indonesia. Through character education, students are taught to have good attitudes and behavior. Education in Indonesia still has a learning process that only uses the lecture method in delivering material. This is one of the main problems, especially in the implementation of character education to students by teachers. New innovations should be possessed by teachers, especially in teaching appropriate moral values. with the goals of the Indonesian nation. This is crucial because the moral decline that occurs as a result of the globalization process results in developments in every condition that are sometimes uncontrollable.
