The Role of Civics in Building the Character of School Children the Basics of Social Life

The subject of Civics Education (PKn) in elementary schools plays a strategic role in shaping children's character from an early age. This article aims to examine how PKn contributes to the formation of students' character, particularly in their social lives. The methods used are literature study and limited observations in the elementary school environment. The results show that through learning values such as tolerance, responsibility, cooperation, and discipline, PKn helps students understand the importance of living in a harmonious society. The conclusion of this study is that PKn needs to be taught with a contextual and enjoyable approach so that character values can be effectively embedded in children's social lives.
