Abstract

This article aims to provide an overview of the strategic role of Citizenship Education (PKn) in building national character in elementary school students. This study uses a library research method with a descriptive approach, which examines various scientific sources such as journals, theses, articles, and relevant literature published from 2006 to 2021. The results of the study indicate that Civics has a significant contribution in instilling moral values, ethics, and national attitudes, but its implementation in the school environment still faces challenges, especially in terms of innovative and comprehensive learning approaches. The conclusion of this article is that PKn is not just a subject, but a strategic vehicle in forming a young generation with character, responsibility, and love for the country. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers be more creative in designing contextual Civics learning that touches on students' affective aspects, as well as collaboration between schools, families, and communities in forming national character. This article is a contribution from Prospective Professional Teachers in the Republic of Indonesia who are committed to building quality education for the future of the nation.
