Abstract

This study aims to provide a general understanding of strategies for instilling caring and tolerance in elementary school students through Civics (PKn) instruction based on local wisdom values. This study uses a library research approach that refers to expert theories and relevant previous research. Elementary school is a crucial phase in character formation, particularly in the social and moral realms. Establishing an attitude of tolerance and caring from an early age serves as the foundation for the growth of a positive personality and national awareness. PKn instruction plays a significant role as a means of instilling these values by utilizing the local cultural context as part of a contextual learning approach. This article examines how civics learning, linked to local wisdom, can be an effective medium for fostering values of tolerance. The approach prioritizes the relevance of teaching materials to students' cultural contexts, enabling them to understand and apply values such as mutual respect and coexistence in diversity in everyday life.
