Abstract

This study aims to describe how the discussion method can improve students' critical thinking skills in Civics (PKn) learning in Elementary Schools. Critical thinking is an important skill that needs to be developed early on to prepare students to face the challenges of the 21st century. The discussion method was chosen because it provides opportunities for students to express opinions, analyze problems, and find solutions collaboratively. The results of the study indicate that the application of a structured and directed discussion method can improve students' abilities in analyzing information, evaluating arguments, and making decisions based on logical considerations. The implementation of the discussion method in Civics learning also contributes to increasing students' learning interest, self-confidence, and communication skills. This study concludes that the discussion method is an effective learning strategy for developing students' critical thinking skills in Civics subjects in Elementary Schools.
