The Role of Civic Education in Shaping Character and National Insight

Abstract

Civics Education (PKn) plays a strategic role in shaping the character and national insight of Indonesia's young generation. Amidst globalization, technological developments, and increasingly complex social challenges, there is a decline in moral values and nationalism. Therefore, PKn is an important instrument in instilling the values of Pancasila, democracy, and civic responsibility. This study used a literature review method by reviewing various relevant scientific books. The results of the study indicate that PKn plays a role in shaping the character of individuals with integrity, increasing national awareness, and strengthening national identity. Furthermore, PKn also serves as a means to face the challenges of globalization by strengthening moral and national values. Therefore, strengthening PKn learning is essential to creating a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also possesses strong character and national insight.
