Citizenship Education In Forming Attitudes Leadership In Elementary School Students Professional Teacher Candidates of The Republic of Indonesia

Abstract

Civics Education (PKn) plays a strategic role in shaping students' character, particularly in instilling leadership attitudes from elementary school age. This study aims to examine the role of PKn in shaping elementary school students' leadership attitudes and identify obstacles and solutions in its implementation. The method used was a systematic literature review by analyzing various scientific literature sources in the form of journals, books, and relevant research results from 2020 to 2025. The results of the study indicate that PKn learning contributes significantly to developing leadership values such as responsibility, discipline, cooperation, communication skills, courage to express opinions, and decision-making. However, in practice, various obstacles are still found, including learning methods that tend to be conventional, the lack of integration of leadership values in the learning process, and limited teacher competence in implementing character-based learning. To overcome these problems, more active and participatory learning innovations are needed, such as the implementation of project-based learning , cooperative learning, and role-playing methods. In addition, strengthening character education through the integration of leadership values in the curriculum and improving teacher competence through training are also important steps. Thus, Civics can be an effective means of forming a young generation that has leadership qualities, strong character, and is able to contribute positively to social, national, and state life.
