Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of active learning strategies in elementary schools and the role of teachers in developing students' spiritual attitudes. The background of this study is based on the continued dominance of conventional learning, which results in low student engagement in the learning process. Therefore, a learning strategy is needed that can activate students while shaping their character and spiritual attitudes. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, namely by reviewing various sources such as books, journals, and scientific articles relevant to the research topic. Data collection techniques are carried out through reading, recording, and categorizing information, which is then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicate that active learning strategies, such as Problem-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, and cooperative learning, can improve student engagement, learning outcomes, and critical thinking skills. Furthermore, the role of teachers is crucial in developing students' spiritual attitudes through several stages, namely learning preparation, delivering material integrated with religious values, providing advice and guidance, providing role models, and evaluating learning. Thus, active learning strategies not only influence cognitive aspects but also the formation of students' character and spiritual attitudes, so they need to be optimally implemented in learning in elementary schools.
