Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of Civics Education (PKn) learning in increasing elementary school students' learning interest through a literature review approach. The background of this study is based on the low student interest in learning PKn caused by the use of monotonous learning methods, the lack of interesting learning media, and non-contextual learning. The method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through documentation from various relevant scientific journals in the 2020–2024 period. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify patterns, themes, and relationships between concepts. The results of the study indicate that student learning interest can be significantly increased through the application of innovative learning models such as Problem Based Learning (PBL), Cooperative Learning, and Role Playing. In addition, the use of visual-based learning media such as videos and animations has been proven to increase student learning interest by around 30%. The contextual approach that intertwines the material with students' daily lives also has a positive impact on student understanding and engagement in learning. Overall, the application of innovative and student-centered learning strategies can increase learning interest by more than 80%. The implications of this research suggest that teachers need to develop creativity in designing engaging and relevant learning that meets students' needs. Thus, civics learning not only increases student interest but also contributes to the development of students' character as good citizens.
