UNDERSTANDING THE NATURE OF PKN LEARNING AS CHARACTER EDUCATION IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

Abstract

Study This aim For understand essence Citizenship Education (PKn) learning as education character at school base as well as identify challenges and implementation strategies. Civics own role strategic in form participant students who do not only intelligent in a way intellectual, but also has strong character​ in accordance with the values of Pancasila. However, in practice, learning Civics Still often aspect - oriented cognitive so that not optimal in internalize values character. Study This use method studies literature review with approach qualitative. Data collected through various source literature scientific, such as journal national and international, books, and relevant proceedings​ with topic study in range 2020–2025. The analysis technique used is analysis content analysis for identify , examine , and synthesize various findings study related learning Civics and education character. Study results show that learning Civics own contribution significant in implant values character like honesty, responsibility responsibility, discipline, tolerance, and nationalism. However, there are a number of constraint in implementation, including methods​ learning that is still ongoing conventional, limitations teacher competence in integrate mark characters , as well as influence negative development digital technology towards behavior students. For overcome matter Therefore, innovative and contextual learning strategies are needed, such as application of problem-based learning and project-based learning models, integration mark character in a way systematic in every stage learning, utilization technology in a way wise, and strengthening collaboration between school, family , and community.
