This study aims to examine in depth the internalization of gender equality values based on ethno-civics (local wisdom) in Civics (PKn) learning in elementary schools through a literature study approach. The background of this study is based on the continued discovery of learning practices that contain gender bias and the lack of integration of gender equality values in the elementary education process. Therefore, a contextual and relevant learning approach is needed, one of which is through the utilization of local wisdom values within the ethno-civics framework. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research type. The data used is secondary data obtained from various scientific literature, such as journals, books, and relevant official documents published between 2020 and 2025. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation, while data analysis used content analysis techniques with the stages of identification, classification, interpretation, and synthesis of data. Data validity was maintained through source triangulation. The results of the study indicate that internalization of gender equality values in Civics learning can be done effectively through the integration of local wisdom values, such as mutual cooperation, deliberation, and social justice. The ethno-civics approach allows students to understand the concept of gender equality in a more contextual and meaningful way. In addition, the success of implementation is influenced by teacher competence, the availability of gender-sensitive teaching materials, and the use of participatory learning methods. This study concludes that the ethno-civics approach based on local wisdom has significant potential in supporting inclusive and gender-equitable Civics learning in elementary schools.
