Generation Quality Through Legal Awareness and Compliance Education : Strategy and Implementation For Creating Responsible Citizens

Abstract

Legal awareness and legal compliance education are essential elements in developing a high-quality and responsible generation of citizens. The low level of legal awareness in society indicates that more systematic efforts are needed to instill legal values in younger generations through education. This study aims to analyze the role of legal awareness and compliance education in shaping responsible citizens and to identify effective strategies for its implementation in the educational process. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by examining various relevant scientific sources published between 2020 and 2024. Data were collected through documentation of journal articles, academic books, and previous research related to civic education and legal awareness. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis to identify concepts, findings, and educational strategies relevant to the research topic. The results of the study indicate that civic education plays a strategic role in enhancing the legal awareness and compliance of young generations through learning processes that emphasize the understanding of legal values, social responsibility, and respect for citizens' rights and obligations. Furthermore, the implementation of innovative learning methods such as experiential learning, legal case discussions, and simulation-based learning has proven effective in improving students' understanding of the importance of law in social life. The findings also reveal that the development of legal awareness is not solely influenced by formal education in schools but also by the support of family and community environments. Therefore, synergy among educational institutions, families, and communities is necessary to create an environment that supports the development of law-abiding citizens. In conclusion, legal awareness and compliance education can serve as an effective strategy to build a generation that is not only academically competent but also possesses moral integrity, social responsibility, and a strong commitment to obey the law in social, national, and civic life.
