Abstract

Character education is an important part of the formal learning process in Elementary Schools (SD) as the basis for the formation of students' personalities who are noble, responsible, disciplined, and have a tolerant attitude Strengthening Character Education (PPK) in schools is carried out through various learning strategies, school culture, and the active role of teachers This article uses a literature review method to analyze the concept, strategy, challenges, and implementation of character education in elementary schools The results of the analysis show that strengthening character education must be integrated in all aspects of formal and non-formal education in schools to form students' characters as a whole. Contextual learning, school culture and the role of teachers are key factors in the success of PPK in elementary schools.
