WISE MEDIA SOCIAL AS FORM IMPLEMENTATION OF CITIZENSHIP VALUES

The development of information technology in the digital era has significantly changed people's communication patterns, particularly through the increasingly widespread use of social media. While social media facilitates the rapid and widespread dissemination of information, it also raises various issues such as the spread of hoaxes, hate speech, and low digital ethics. This study aims to analyze the importance of wise behavior on social media as a form of implementing civic values. The method used is a qualitative approach through literature review, examining various scientific sources, such as journals, books, and relevant official reports from 2020 to 2025. The results of the study indicate that low digital literacy is a major factor in the emergence of negative behavior in the digital space. digital, including the inability to sort out valid information and a lack of awareness of communication ethics. In addition, the anonymity factor in social media also contributes. encourages increased irresponsible behavior. The application of civic values such as responsibility, honesty, tolerance, and caring has been proven to improve the quality of digital interactions and minimize social conflict. Efforts that can be made include strengthening digital literacy, integrating character education into learning, and providing regulatory support from the government. Therefore, wise social media use is a concrete manifestation of civic values in the digital era, which must be continuously instilled to create an intelligent, critical, and ethical digital society.
