Abstract

Social studies learning has an important role in forming student character. However, social studies learning in formation character student naturally it's not matter which easy, need struggle which sustainable in order to produce results in accordance with national education goals. Social Studies Learning has similarities with character education in that both have the aim of making students as good citizens, caring about existing social and environmental problems, and also the same own national feeling which tall. In the era of globalization, many influences have penetrated all aspects of life. This effect can be give rise to problem social like individualism, selfishness, lack of Skills communication Which effective, empathy low, lack of not quite enough answer, low level discipline, and lack of cooperation in interacting in social life. This research adopts qualitative research methods with type of library research. The data sources used in this research are books, journals, articles and scientific papers other relevant matters. As a result of research this, effort to improve students' social skills through teachers with good social skills good, and review the social studies learning objectives in elementary school.
