INTERARETNIC SOCIAL INTERACTION OF ADOLESCENTS

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the interactions that occur in inter-ethnic youth in the Medan Marelan Village. The method used in this study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and observations. Data analysis techniques use interactive data analysis which consists of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Data validation techniques use source triangulation techniques and technical triangulation. The results showed that the forms of inter-ethnic adolescent social interaction were cooperation, tolerance and assimilation. Collaboration that occurs in the form of joint activities such as gathering together, chatting, and playing. Tolerance that occurs in the form of the absence of disputes between inter-ethnic youth with the formation of a sense of mutual agreement not to have disputes with other ethnicities. Assimilation is in the form of efforts to reduce differences by using regional languages and Indonesian.
