Education is a way to help students to be able to do their life tasks independently later and also be able to be responsible for themselves. The teacher is someone who plays a major role in educating students at school. not only giving learning academically, the teacher also provides learning related to ethics, including about courtesy because polite ethics is very necessary in students. The writing of this journal aims to describe the teacher's role in educating and building polite attitudes towards students, especially students at the elementary school level. This paper explains that the teacher is not only a teacher in the school but as a motivator who helps change the character of students so that later these students have ethics, especially polite ethics which has a big influence on the behavior of students. As for what is meant by politeness is a rule of life that arises from the association of a group of people in society and is considered as a daily social guide for society, as we know that politeness is very necessary in the person of everyone, especially students at the elementary school level. In this paper, the data collection method uses the documentation study method. The preparation of this paper uses a descriptive method, which is to see directly the phenomena that exist in the field and then describe them so as to obtain the conclusions desired by the researcher. This paper does not only discuss civics education but also the role of religion in changing polite ethics. As for the later conclusions in this paper, it shows that teachers have a very important role in instilling politeness towards elementary school level students.
