THE ROLE OF THE TEACHER IN UPHOLDING HUMAN RIGHTS VALUES IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Learning is a right that must be granted by Indonesian citizens according to law, so that learning is one of the things that is mandatory for Indonesian citizens. The 1945 Constitution guarantees and justifies the right to education in Indonesia. As stated in the fourth paragraph of the 1945 Constitution, the basis of education is to educate people's lives. The teacher as an educational agent (learning agent) is a tutor, motivator, accelerator, educational engineer and learning inspiration for students. A good teacher is a teacher who knows how to convey messages and moral values that students will later emulate. This study used the normative literature research method by creating various references related to the topic of this assignment by referring to various national journal references. The researcher obtained the result that learning human rights is a right for all Indonesian people. It is useful to teach human rights from an early age, because introducing human rights to students is not easy and takes a long time. As an educator, the teacher is obliged to determine if human rights values are established in education and are realized in daily application at school. human rights. Teachers are also required to provide good learning and attention to students, facilitate education, and care. Not only that, teachers are also required to master the basic concepts and growth of human rights thinking. In this regard, teachers must understand scientific modules which include the dimensions of knowledge, values, and social studies skills, and develop educational modules, structures, and procedures that are compatible with the concept of human rights. The teacher is also obliged to pay close attention to school rules and student discipline.
