Abstract

Citizenship education is a vehicle for study to develop and preserve noble values and morals that originate from the culture of the Indonesian nation's ancestors. Citizenship education as value education means that civic education includes value education, so that people can understand and behave according to existing value guidelines. Citizenship education as value education will lead citizens to become good and intelligent citizens which is marked by the realization of good, intelligent, participatory and responsible citizens. Values education is an inculcation and development of values to be developed in life. The purpose of value education is to form character with material related to morality and values in life. Citizenship Education is a form of education in terms of inculcating values, norms, state insights, legal awareness, respect and equality, as well as defending the country in the context of national security. The foundation of citizenship education itself is from the basis of the Indonesian nation state, namely Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. That is because in Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution contain noble values that serve as guidelines for citizens in carrying out the life of the nation and state. In general, the purpose of Citizenship Education is to instill a sense of love for the homeland, and a sense of unity and oneness, to instill awareness to be a good citizen in life in a country, to be willing to sacrifice for the country and nation and to practice the values of Pancasila. as an ideology as well as a way of life of the nation.
