Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to understand how effective (wall magazines) are in increasing student literacy. In this case, media is a medium or tool in generating student motivation in a reading culture. The role of teachers and students is necessary in increasing reader interest, for example, teachers are able to develop media in a lesson or introduce media to students which will give an interesting impression in reading. This research uses literacy methods. The data obtained is the publication of research articles in scientific journals. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that using wall media is an effective way to improve literacy skills in students. (Arnelia Dwi Yasa, 2020) Remembering that literacy is not just reading and writing activities, but language skills are also included. Through this activity, students can also express their thoughts and imaginations which are expressed in the media. In this case, the results obtained show that children's literacy skills can be developed, one of which is by using media, and media can increase the ability or creativity as well as the interests and talents of students. Based on observations, mading activities have existed before but have not been carried out well and optimally.
