The Influence of Learning Technology in the Learning Process on Students' Learning Motivation and Interest in Primary Schools

The development of digital technology is the result of engineering by human reason, thought and intelligence, which is reflected in the progress of science, which then provides benefits in all aspects of human life. In the development of human communication, it has succeeded in bringing very rapid progress, from changing manual communication to analog, where digital technology has made it easy to communicate quickly, without being limited by distance, space and time via the Internet. The use of Information Technology, in this case the internet, as a learning medium really helps educators and students in the learning process. The existence of the internet can have both positive and negative impacts on students. Parents and teachers need to know about the characteristics of adolescent students in accessing the internet as an effort to control internet use. The use of the internet as a learning medium is expected to increase students' learning motivation so that they achieve satisfactory learning achievements. The aim of this research is to examine the impact of using the internet as a learning medium on student learning motivation as indicated by student achievement. This research aims to determine the effect of the use of information technology on elementary school students' motivation and interest in learning. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach with an ex post facto method. The population in this study was 166 students. Meanwhile, the sample in this study was 62 respondents. The data used in the research is a questionnaire with 30 questions distributed, 15 questions as indicators of Information Technology and 15 questions as indicators of Student Motivation and Interest in Learning. The data analysis techniques used are data normality testing and regression analysis. This research concludes that there is a significant influence of the use of information technology on elementary school students' motivation and interest in learning. This shows that the influence of the use of information technology on students' learning interest reaches 36% and the remaining 64% of students' motivation and interest in learning is influenced by other variables.
