THE CULTIVATION OF MORALITY AND DISCIPLINE CHARACTER IN THE WORLD OF EDUCATION

Abstract

Character education is a process of applying moral and religious values in the world of education to students through science, the application of these values both to oneself, family, fellow friends, to educators and the surrounding environment and God Almighty. This study aims to find out how the efforts of teachers in instilling the character of morality and discipline in the world of education especially in elementary schools are influenced by economics, globalization, association, and technology, but the condition of students' character tends to decrease in the moral aspect, polite speech decreases. The research method used was a literature study. The results showed that the inculcation of the character of morality and discipline in the world of education, especially elementary school students, can be instilled through daily school activities through discipline and extracurricular activities and the habituation of the teacher's example with the aim of educating and equipping students to have good behavior and morals for himself, his family, society, and the surrounding environment. Habituation can become an attitude and behavior as well as a character that is automatic and becomes a noble personality in students and is used as an example to instill moral and social values in children. Discipline character education needs to be instilled from an early age so that in the future children will become followers of a nation who are capable of having good morals and good behavior as well as becoming human resources with good character. These two aspects are not only realized consistently and consistently at school, but also optimized in the family environment, considering that students spend more time at home than at school. The emergence of character education shows that it is able to produce superior students not only in terms of knowledge, emotional intelligence, but also a strong personality.
