This research aims to determine the role of citizenship teachers in forming students' awareness in elementary schools. This research uses qualitative research with a literature study approach. The data collection technique used is the technique of collecting theories and references. From the research results, it was found that the role of citizenship teachers in forming students' awareness in elementary schools includes: 1) teachers as motivators who motivate students to become obedient to their self-awareness. 2) Civics teachers must have attitudes that students must emulate, and 3) Efforts to foster self-awareness must start from education. Furthermore, the obstacles faced by civic education teachers in forming students' awareness in elementary schools are the different nature and characteristics of students who sometimes ignore direction and guidance from teachers and even ignore their education. The civic education teacher's efforts to overcome these obstacles include continuing to remind or direct students to the existing school rules, being a role model for students and making approaches between teachers and students who violate teacher or school regulations.
