ALIGNMENT OF RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS TO REALIZE RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS (CIVIC RESPONBILITY)

Abstract

A balance between rights and obligations can be achieved by knowing our own position. As citizens, we must know our rights and obligations, do what we must do, and fight for our rights. The government also needs to know its rights and obligations. When rights and obligations are balanced and fulfilled, people's lives are safe and prosperous. All acquired rights arise from the performance of obligations. Rights and obligations are two things that are mutually continuous, interconnected causal that can be separated. The implementation of the rights and obligations of citizens in life in various fields often experiences inequality in their implementation. Often demanding rights without regard to the obligations that must be carried out to obtain their rights. Guarantee of rights and obligations inherent in citizens along with awareness of maintaining alignment between rights and obligations in every line of life Fulfillment of rights and obligations must be followed by a sense of responsibility so that citizens' awareness of their mindset is not only oriented towards fulfilling the rights given to them by others but is accompanied by obligations that must be carried out as a form of responsibility both in personal life, society, nation and state. In this writing, more emphasis is placed on the understanding of the alignment of rights and obligations in realizing responsible citizens (civic responsibility). This research aims to provide an overview of the fulfillment of the rights and implementation of citizens' obligations to the state. Because not a few citizens demand the fulfillment of rights as citizens without carrying out obligations as citizens. The research method uses literature review with several case study methods. Research sources come from several electronic books, scientific journals and other sources that have been confirmed for accuracy with data collection techniques in the form of document studies.
