INSTALLATION OF PANCASILA VALUES IN BUILDING STUDENT CHARACTER IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

The purpose of this research is to instill character values in students towards the development of character education which is still low, such as developing potential, developing habits and behavior, cultivating a spirit of leadership and developing student abilities. The method for making this article is the Library Research method which applies a descriptive approach, and uses journals as a reference. The data source used in this article is in the form of references from journals that have the substance of the problem. These references are used as a support in the data analysis process in this research. The results of the study found that character education is the planting of various positive values for students such as accustoming students to behave in accordance with noble values. Now character education has become the center of attention for various national problems, especially problems of moral decadence, such as corruption, violent fights, inter-ethnic clashes. For this reason, it is necessary to instill character values in students, therefore things that can strengthen students' character need to be instilled noble values or Pancasila such as religious, nationalist, independent, cooperation, and integrity. . Character is a trait that is embedded in a person's soul which causes actions easily without any consideration of the mind. Forming character is not easy, forming this character requires habituation. Character education is the cultivation of values which include good actions. Character education requires habituation, such as the habit of doing good, being honest, knights and so on. The character value of integrity is a value that underlies behavior based on efforts to make oneself a person who can be trusted in words and actions. Have a commitment to human and moral values.
