Abstract

The damage of the nation's children is observed from the waning of student manners, it can be seen from when they talk to each other, to teachers and even their parents, dirty words that should not be uttered are often thrown out, dishonesty, and noble character in children that are difficult to find. Therefore, there needs to be effort in handling and even preventing these incidents so that they do not become a culture in children. Familiarizing children to do good is one effort that can be done. Character education can be formed through habituation in schools through routine, programmed and incidental activities. These habits are expected to bring up values in children. The Ministry of Education and Culture states that there are five character values in PPK (Strengthening Character Education) for elementary education students. The five main characters are religious, nationalist, independent, mutual cooperation and integrity. The formation of children's character needs to be familiarized from an early age. So that good character is formed from an early age, and to change it will be very difficult. An important stage in carrying out character education is around the age of 6-11 years, namely when children are in elementary school. Because at elementary age, children will experience very rapid motor development, including personality, character, intellectual, language and emotional development.
