THE IMPORTANCE OF CIVICS LEARNING IN SHAPING CHARACTER EDUCATION VALUES IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

Abstract

Character education is very important not only at school but also in the home and community environment. Education is a step that the government can take so that it can educate the nation. With the existence of an education, a person will be taught and planted with a set of values, faith, knowledge, norms and morals that can be applied in society. This study aims to find out that children's character can affect their education, Civics learning is present to be able to convey an understanding that it is very important to instill character values through Civics learning in elementary schools. This research shows that the data in several journals to see how important Civics learning is in shaping student character. The hope of this Civics learning can change a character that can present generations that have better character education values through Civics learning in elementary schools, so that the values in Pancasila can be implemented and create a much better country. Character is a combination of morals, ethics, and morals. Moral is more on the quality of deed, focusing on the quality of action or human behavior or whether the deed can be said to be good or bad, or right or wrong. or wrong. On the contrary, ethics gives judgments about good and bad, based on the norms that apply in its order, emphasizes that in essence human beings have embedded beliefs in which their good (good and bad) exists.
